Bitter rulings
Yielding to the government. the voice of the people, without question we obey. “Democracy shield us, we just want to live our lives, give us stability each day.” Acting in our stead, supported by many, on few we depend. “They see the big picture, less for us to worry, the government is your friend.” The strong arm of the law, the political helping hand they handle manners big or small. “Named by king and queen, from the dark age they will protect, our government does it all!” Even when realization dawns, there is no hope anymore, it is now too long too late. Like vampires they hunt, like vultures they feed, sealed is our fate. Monthly bled dry, milked like the proverbial cow, helpless like pigs to the slaughter. Unable to help ourselves, like the meek sheep we are, mocking is their laughter. Behind layers of red tape, forced by regulations, like a puppet they make you dance. Slowly the noose tightens, for their own ego or wallet; their own “political stance”. Sustaining themselves , the one true cause, the citizen can go to hell. “Until that moment live, so as long as you pay tax, and do whatever we will tell.” Goverments and politics, good intentions and corruption, all in one messed up relation. Controlled by our puppeteers, to their beat we march, uniform on the path to damnation.

MMORPG Crack As you may or may not know I have been playing MMORPG's for a year or so now. I tried to avoid them and keep favouring RTS and FPS games yet the fantasy gamer inside me dragged me kicking and screaming towards the store to purchase a game from that genre. I started off with Guild Wars. It was ok-ish, but it didn't feel right. Along came WAR (Warhammer: Age of Reckoning) and instantly fell in love with my Witch-Elf (A scantily-armoured crazed blender). Too bad the game was PVP-based and there were too little players on the servers. This, of course, made it boring. Then finally the siren lure of World of Warcraft caught me as well. I have been playing for a half a year now and I must admit that I truly like it. Or better yet: Liked. It feels like an old game and too many things are already found out and everything has been done already. In my previous post I mentioned that I quit playing and switched to Pirates of the Burning Sea. I got out of the MMORPG's! But not for long.
Aion.
Remember that name.
A friend of mine pointed me to the site and asked me to simply read without judging. Now I want it. Badly. I want it as a 28-year old priest turned loose in a... ok. I can't say that :P But I want it bad. For those who are playing WoW on my flist (I'm looking at you Isabelgou and Rohaa): This game involves wings. Getting your wings at level 10 and gorgeous graphics! Of course, gameplay has evolved and a lot of things I found amiss with WoW seem to have been adressed. Have I mentioned I want it bad? It is still a new game, which means you do not have all that elitist crap goin on and hopefully a lot of new players who are there to simply enjoy the game. A few things that stuck out:
- Wings! Also usable in combat for 1-6 minutes. That means flying around and fighting there, casting spells from high grounds, etc. You get pretty white or fallen angel black angel wings depending on the faction you play. I even saw movies with aerial combat in there! - Movement combat: The way you move influences combat. (Going forward: more damage, going backward: more defense, side-to-side: More evasion/dodge). No simply standing still, movement matters! - PvPvE Player versus player versus Environment. There is a third faction at play which can be influenced by politics (probably quests) and can be either friend or foe. Also important for the main storyline so it cannot be played by players. To make it better: The non-PVP players actually support the PVP players by doing raids and finishing stuff so the PVP players can try to finish the story. Also: You can go PvP inside a raid which the other faction is trying to survive there. Makes it a bit more of a challenge :) - Pretty graphics and loads of kick-ass skills with flashy animations. - Customizable characters! (Imagine Oblivion: You can spend a long time perfecting your character) - Paintable armor! (I missed that in WoW) - And more!
The game really looks good. Not just from the gameplay viewpoint, but also on the artistic side. Just give it a look.
I'm going to play an Asmodian (the not so goody goody looking guys) Assassin. I'll post here what server I will be playing on. Maybe join my friends and my if you are interested?

Pirate road rage! On road rage: Why in the name of whatever you think is almighty do people, whom are unable/not willing/too stupid to drive, drive on the left side of the road with 80-90 km/h? THAT'S WHERE THE F***ING RIGHT SIDE IS FOR! Stay behind the trucks and busses, at least they are not allowed to go harder so they will keep at their max speed. And for the love of forementioned almighty person/being/thing, DO NOT OVERTAKE with just 95 km/h and GET THE F***off the left side. Don't hang there and gape stupidly at the hordes and hordes of cars overtaking you right because you are too f***ing slow. There is a reason for that: YOU! Now go be slow in a corner or something. Or take the public transport. Thank you.
On piratey business: We decided to take a break from World of Warcraft (I won't delete my character!) and take up Pirates of the Burning Sea. Why? We are always interested in ship to ship combat, and a lot of trading. WoW is just the same thing over and over again. It was fun levelling to 80 but it's getting tedious now. Sure Heroics are fun and raids are enjoyable but that's all the fun I get from it. Trading is good too but the joy is gone. Pirates of the Burning Sea on the other hand is still fresh, new and shiny. It is compared to Eve online. Lots of intricate planning to produce stuff, you have to haul your stuff to the correct port to produce it and you can get mugged in between. Of course you can choose to be a mugger or participate in large scaled battle. Also delivering a massive broadside to the enemy ship and shoot off a few masts on the enemy ship gives a certain amount of satisfaction. It is more low-paced and relaxt which enables me to watch TV-series, anime or movies while playing. Also: Pirates! Yar! I'll post a pic of my new character soon. Tactics play a big role in this game as you have to take a lot of things into account.
For the rest life is proceeding steadily. Have started in my new office and am adapting to life here. Speaking of which, best get back to being a good little worker drone.
Later 'y all.

On the bay of Pirates Yesterday around 16:30 a Dutch judge ruled that the Pirate Bay site must be made unavailable to the Dutch internet-users. This because a private anti-pirate foundation (called BREIN) thinks that the Pirate Bay is the spawn of all evil.
This is, of course, absolute bullshit. "Why is that oh wise Xamuntha?", you might ask yourself. Well:
1) The Pirate Bay has never been served (officially sued) by BREIN. They left the subpoemas(?) at Twitter, Facebook and several other sites to do so. Never a letter or something like that, just some digital posting on fora and things like that. At first the judge didn't think that that was a proper way to sue someone but apparantly he has changed his/her mind. BREIN handed them a log with all the "effort" they put in sueing the Pirate Bay owners. Ah, and here comes the most wonderful part: Because all of the "effort" that Brein put into sueing PB they get to continue the lawsuit. Wow, that means that I have to keep looking at my hyves because I might have been sued there? Of course PB didnt'send any lawyers or were present at the trial because they didn't knew or didn't believe that the things written on the internet are true. Which is perfectly logical. Now they "lost" by default.
2) Making the site unaccessible for the Netherlands is near impossible. Of course the "normal" downloader might find it a bit difficult but with an IP-switcher/hider or a simple proxy in another country you can still access it. The more hard-core downloaders can easily do that and they are the ones BREIN wants to take down. This proves that the judge in question doesn't know a thing about computers.
3) The Pirate Bay is swedish on a swedish server. What the hell does BREIN think they are doing? If it was dutch, ok. But it's Swedish you freaking morons! The Swedish goverment is already working on it so sit the fuck down and keep your yap shut. BREIN just wants to show their faces and try to look like "big players".
4) And most important of all: This is cencorship. We all laugh and point at North-Korea and China for banning several sites and all that. We smile and think: Thank god we live in a free country. Well, this opened the floodgate to all censorship. Thank you BREIN. I hope you burn for pissing on the constitutional rights (or whatever "grondwet" translates to). Welcome great Firewall of China and goodbye "freedom".
The most funny part of all is that BREIN isn't a part of the goverment. If Piracy is illegal (I'm talking about uploading/downloading, not the 'yar, shiver me timber' one) the goverment, not a private foundation, should do that. That's it. Don't come whining about the "poor artists" who can't pay their food. They can, if not they are probably not fit to survive and should make easier markatable products.
Also: If they drop the prices of Music, Movies and Games they can sell more! I happily buy DVD's. 10euros or less is a decent price I think for perfect quality. Means I can buy more as well. Why do people download? It is too expensive. I don't like to dish out 50+ euros for a game I might not even like. Most people "try" the game/movie/music and then buy the original. In fact, Piracy is providing a better trial service. If the Pirates are destroying people, why do the game/music/movie industries still run for billions of euros? And why do other countries have to wait a long time in order to see the newest episode of their favourite series?
If they would first fix those problems, piracy would die on it's own. No need to censor for that.

Rant: Inspiration and creation Someone at my work asked me today why I didn’t draw cartoons anymore. “I don’t have the time”, I answered without thinking. Now, 15 minutes later, I realize that I do have the time. I just seem to be missing inspiration of some kind. Let me clarify: All my life I have been drawing. Not fancy, good-looking stuff, just cartoons. Simple things that I find funny. I have always been drawing at school and at work. When I started to work fulltime I started to draw during my work. I worked at a callcenter and could do my job without spending too much thought on it. Drawing at least kept me occupied so I could function without going mad. My job reviews were always good/great so there wasn’t a problem. Later on I started working at my current employer where I was asked to keep it down a bit. Still I kept on drawing (only hiding it a bit more) .I spend 3,5 years at a phone until I was ‘promoted’ to this job. Since then I seem to have stopped drawing. Logic brings me to the following theories: 1) Maybe I have no inspiration anymore 2) Maybe I do not have the time anymore 3) Maybe all my creative ehm… energy is diverted to different things.
I do not think it is either 1 or 2. In my life there are way too much things that inspire me. Music, Movies, Games, Anime, Books, etc. Lately one of those things has been So you think you can dance (american version). Yes that is my guilty pleasure show. They do some really beautiful things there… But I’m getting side-tracked. Nr 2 is a bit weird because I have to think up ways to improve stuff at work (I got ‘promoted’ again remember?) and you can’t be creative all the time. And I think that is the problem: Between my cosplay, my Kim’s cosplay, my former roommate’s cosplay, my AMV, my several roleplaying games (both online and offline) and my job my creative reserve is ‘depleted’.
Can such a thing happen? I know some people who can keep on being original and creative 24/7 while some people can only think of one new thing every week or so. Do people have different ‘creative reserves’? If so, how or when in life is such a thing determined? I know creative outings are different for everyone. Maybe the ones who can’t create that much haven’t found ‘their’ way yet. Still I think that it boils down to inspiration. Some people find something in just about everything which they convert into their minds towards their own thing, triggering an emotion. Art, in all it’s forms, is emotion which is being transferred from one being to eachother. ‘Good’ art is just something that invokes a strong emotion in it’s recipient. “Wait, isn’t it good when the author transfers his/her own emotion to the other person?” I don’t think so. A lot of ‘art’ is being seen as magnificent without the original intended emotion being passed on. Everything is in the eye of the beholder. Example: Sting and the Police’s “I’ll be missing you” from 1983 is a great song. It is considered one of the most romantic songs ever. People use it in love declarations, weddings, etc. Sting on the other hand wrote that thing from a stalker’s perspective and is laughing his ass off everytime he hears that. ‘Good’ art is just something then that triggers an emotion which someone at that point in his/her life likes. Whether it is good or bad, the artist decides whether it is art or not. Not the one looking at it. Inspiration is the trigger, Art is emotion brought forth by emotion.
Does that mean that I have a limit to what emotions I can outpour? Do emotions continue to build up until a point where I have to do something with them? Or start doing something with them? Does this work for everyone this way?
I don’t know… It is interesting though.

Rant about videogames
What is it these days with people being stupid? Or being an utter and complete hypocrit? Reason for this rant is the fact that an H-game in Japan called "Rapelay" is banned by some kind of ethical comission there because of complains of some people. Let me explain what Rapelay is: Rapelay is an hentai-game where (according to the article on fok.nl) you have to follow and, yes look at the title, rape girls.
Ok, first of all: I think that rape is one of the most horrible things you could inflict upon another human being. The invasion of that personal privacy is something that just shouldn't happen. I also think that punishment for this crime should be more severe than the current law-systems in the Western worlds allow. It is inexcusable.
Also: The fact that this game is produced is really weird. I can almost imagine the sales pitch to the board of directors. Also I can imagine them nodding and thinking "There could be some money in this. You have a green light to program this." The stories at home for one of the programmers alone crack me up: "Papa what do you work on now?" "Well [insert daughter name here], I'm working on a new kind of game." "What about?" "Ehm..." "Can I play too?" "Ehm..." Combine this with the fact that they have found a publisher for this as well and you might understand why I think this is really weird.
But: It's only a pixel on a screen. That’s it. Daily they are multitudes of beings being shot / stabbed / blown up / imploded / burned / strangled / run over or put through the most gruesome things in games. Is it more ok to rape a pixel than to kill/maim it? I think not. The same people whom rule this out ethically are a bit of a hypocrit in this. Why is blowing up a non-suspecting town or ravaging through it by car more ethically sound than rape? ( The rest... ) .</div> </div>

Wondering
I just wonder what lies in store. I just wonder what life is all about. I just wonder what will come.
I just wonder what I am going to do. I just wonder what will be next, I just wonder about the things I’ve done. I see people out on the street, I wonder what they think about now, living in the afternoon grey light. I just can’t seem to help but wonder,
as I look out of my window, and gaze upon the trees outside.

Fake
Living a lie, saying it's real, knowing it's fake. Without meaning, empty without pause, forsaken of God's sake.
A hollow shell, a handful of nothing, 't is something I shun. Never a way of living, never a consolation, never a source of any fun.
Fake is what crushes, fake is what scars, fake is hell. Be careful how you live, be careful of your promise, be careful of what you sell.
For fake is double-edged, cutting both ways, karma simple and pure. For any empty promise, for any fake lie you give,
three times worse shall you endure.

Funny thing... I just realized I uploaded this with my mobile phone. It does an automatic "Do you want to post this?" When making a photo while this little pic here was made so that I can use it as a reference when buying tickets for Nightwish...
Which I have of course.
I might do more random picture posts, might be fun :D

Seeing, being believing. He who sees, and yet not see, will see the things, not meant to be. Without trying to see, will be truly seeing. He who sees then, will see true meaning. She who is trying to be, will surely fail to be, will not be herself, which others will see. Throughout your being, without being be, the realization will free; I is the one who is truly me. Those who believe, forcing their belief, nothing is sacred, stealing faith like a common thief. Believe in believing, Each one has one’s own belief. stop harassing others about yours, grant yourself relief.
Thinking, musing, seeing. Wondering, believing,
...just being.
